I am here!!!

Alright I have been holding off on blogging until I could blog about our big trip for the holidays, but now I have been home for almost a month and haven't blogged at all so I am going to just do it and then hopefully catch up on the trip as I go...

Last weekend we went up to Banff and Lake Louise with Rebecca and Dan to see the ice sculpture contest. It was lots of fun! We headed up on Saturday afternoon and Wes and Lauren took a nap when we arrived. Then we went to the Silver Dragon for some delicious Chinese food with Rebecca and Dan, afterward we went and got some yummy candy.

Lauren chowing down on her candy!

Hanging out by the fireplace.

Wes doing his normal vacation stuff...

Lauren decided she wanted to sleep by the fire

Sunday we woke up and went to Banff Springs hotel for breakfast, we were a few minutes late for the buffet so we got to eat off the set menu, not such a great deal!!! (The atmosphere and company were great though!) Lauren loved being in a real castle.

I forgot to take a picture so here is a stock one...

Lauren and Wes walking down to the ice sculptures as you can see we bundled Lauren up tight! It was really COLD!

This was the 1st place (Wes' favorite)

This was 2nd place

3rd Place (my favorite)

The actual sculpture

Cool Animals

Wes and Lauren in front of the ice castle, Lauren thought she was ice skating and didn't want to get off the ice even though her cheeks were bright red!!!

Lauren and Dan playing table hockey with nuts while drinking yummy hot chocolate!

Lauren threw a huge fit in the middle of the hotel, it was a long day and way past her nap time! I think this was her first public fit!

Monday we headed down to Raymond to drop off some tires to Curtis for his mustang. We had a great time visiting with them and I got some Cherry Coke, yes there is only one place in Canada that I have found so far that has Cherry Coke and it is at the Red Dog Diner in Lethbridge (they also have great poutine!) thanks Curt and Christina for taking us there! It was REALLY windy on the way home and a box hit our side mirror and knocked out the glass. You never realize how often you use your driver side mirror until you don't have one!!!

Yeah, welcome back. I was tired of checking and seeing your apple treats post (although it reminded me how yummy they were).

I used to go see ice sculptures growing up in MN. They are amazing.

It looked very cold. I think I'd be sleeping by the fire like Lauren!

Yeah, I think I will stay in my 70 degree weather and short sleeves. That just looked way too cold!!

And finally you have updated! Thank you! I keep checking for those trip pictures :)
