Cupcakes and Family Party

Ever wonder what to do with left over cake? Well head on over to Bakerella's blog and learn how to make cupcake pops. Lauren and I did it so anyone can do it!!!

The first step is to crumble the cake, let me tell you Lauren and I had a blast doing this part. Then you add frosting and mix it in. Then you get to lick the frosting spoon.

I definately need to work on my dipping technique, but all in all they turn out adorable and taste great too.

The best part is eating them when you are done.

This is what Lauren looked like a few minutes before the guests arrived for her birthday party. She and I took turns wearing the "cape" and flying around the house, it was lots of fun!

Here are some of the guests, it is nice to have some family here so we can have family parties, we were sad that the Start side of hte family couldn't make it but it is a long drive!

No birthday party is complete with out fireworks.

Steve brought over some fireworks and we lit them after dark it was a lot of fun and I am sure our neighbors love us even more! Lauren loved seeing them and when you ask her what a firework sounds like she says: "weeeeeeeee pop" it is pretty funny.

It was a fun night with great people and lots of fun new toys for Lauren. I still can't believe she is 2, in some ways it seems like she was just born a few months ago and other ways it seems like she has always been a part of our lives. We love her so much and are grateful for her fun, loving and giving personality.
