Today was warm so Lauren and I decided that after we ran a few errands we would go to the lake. One of errands was out by Chestemere so I thought I would check it out and see if there was a beach type place and could not find one, so we headed back down to Sikome Lake. It was pretty busy but we found a great spot and Lauren started to play. I forgot to bring her bucket and shovel but there were lots of nice people who shared with her!
Lauren practicing her kick, and checking out all of the action.

Building a sand castle

Chowing down on lunchables (not a good idea for sandy hands...)

Lookin' cute!

Quick gripe... We were having a great time, I was working on getting my legs a little less blindingly white while watching Lauren play in the sand when a lady walked in front of me and started to set up her big chair and umbrella right in my view of Lauren. I very nicely asked if she would mind setting up her chair a little to the right so I could still see my daughter, in which she responded "if you need to watch her you should be with her not lounging over here." I very politely through grinding teeth told her not to worry about moving that I would move all of my stuff... I have had nothing but pleasant encounters with people since I moved here and was a little taken back with such a snotty remark, I could see if Lauren was in the water and I was not paying attention to her or something but she was playing in the sand on the beach. I didn't let it ruin it for us though, we went swimming and built a sand castle and Lauren had lots of fun throwing sand and filling buckets.

Lauren is too cute! That happened to us at the beach once too and I wasn't as brave as you were to say something, instead we just glared at them and that didn't do a darn thing!!! Some people are just rude and don't have a clue! I would have been fuming and asked Lauren to come and throw some sand over that way :)
You should have thrown sand and built a sand castle on top of her! Did I write that down??? Really, people DRIVE ME CRAZY!! Did she have kids?? If she did, they were probably the loonie clingy type because their mother never let them venture two feet away to play!! Grrrrr!!! I hope some sand landed on her!! Lauren is CUTE!! Can't wait to see her in winter!!
I had the same thought as Janan. You should have had Lauren throw sand at her.
I can't believe there is a place like that there.
I saw Banff in a 100 Top Destinations- I think it was Life Magazine. Thought of you.
How great to have a beach so close to you! We would be there all the time. I love her swim outfit and her cute little legs!
